Acetic acid 65% - ethanoic acid
Acetic acid (or ethanoic acid, also known as glacial acetic acid – CAS 64-19-7) is a natural carboxylic acid, commonly found in vinegar in concentrated form. This colorless liquid can be produced by biotransformation, notably from beet sugar or alcohol. It can also be synthesized by the carbonylation of methanol with carbon monoxide (CH₃OH + CO → CH₃COOH). At low temperatures, acetic acid crystallizes. In the human body, it is present in sweat and blood. Plants also contain it in their sap.
Acetic acid 65% is available in 20-liter cans, 200-liter drums, and 1000-liter IBCs.
