Paint waste: Arcane strengthens its sustainable management strategy

Arcane Industries is stepping up its efforts toward more rigorous management of paint waste. In an increasingly demanding regulatory environment, the company is structuring its commitments around awareness, compliance, and valorization.

Why is this waste critical?

Paint residues, even when dry, may contain volatile compounds (VOCs), solvents, and heavy metals. Improper treatment poses risks to the environment and public health.

In accordance with French legislation, paints are classified as hazardous waste, involving:

  • Prohibition on disposal in household waste or drainage systems,
  • Mandatory treatment through certified channels,
  • Collection responsibility for all professionals.

A structured approach

Arcane Industries is a member of Citéo and ÉcoDDS, two recognized eco-organizations, to ensure its waste is handled according to current standards. The company implements concrete actions:

  • Implementation of internal sorting systems,
  • Training of teams and distributor clients,
  • Monitoring and traceability of processed volumes.

A shared approach

Responsible management of paint waste does not rest solely with the manufacturer. It involves the entire chain of stakeholders: suppliers, applicators, distributors, and local authorities.

Arcane calls for collective mobilization to achieve the sustainability objectives set and to limit the end-of-life impacts of products.
