Acetic acid 80% - ethanoic acid
Product Summary
Acetic acid, ethanoic acid, also known as glacial acetic acid (CAS 64-19-7), is a natural carboxylic acid notably known for its concentrated presence in vinegars. It is a colorless liquid obtained either by biotransformation from beet sugar or alcohol, but it is also produced synthetically through the carbonylation of methanol with carbon monoxide (CH3OH + CO ? CH3COOH). It crystallizes easily at low temperatures. In humans, it is present in sweat and blood; in plants, it is found in sap.
High-concentration acetic acid 80% is available in 20-liter cans.
