Acetic acid 14°
Acetic acid is the main component of white vinegar, alcohol vinegar, or crystal vinegar. It is also known as glacial acetic acid or ethanoic acid. It belongs to the family of carboxylic acids. It is produced synthetically by carbonylation of methanol with carbon monoxide (CH3OH + CO ? CH3COOH). It is found in human blood and sweat, and in plant sap.
It is available in 20-liter cans, 200-liter drums, and 1000-liter IBCs.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Acetic acid at 14° is used as a descaler. It is also a component of many chemical products.
INDUSTRIAL USE
Acetic acid, at varying concentrations, is used in various industrial applications:
- Natural latex coagulant,
- Textile industry: mordanting during staining of histological sections (e.g., carmine-green staining) and in tanning for pre-treatment of hides
- Cleaning agent component for semiconductor manufacturing
- Intermediate in the manufacture of chemical products,
- Solvent: miscible with water and various organic solvents such as ethanol, diethyl ether, and glycerol, but insoluble in carbon disulfide; it is also a good solvent for gums, resins, phosphorus, sulfur, and halogenated acids;
- Manufacture of plastics such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or cellulose acetate, useful for the production of vinyl acetate (paints, adhesives) and organic solvents
- Used in hydrolysis, condensation, and gelation processes for the manufacture of catalysts

USAGE TIPS
To soften laundry: pour 25 cl of acetic acid into the fabric softener compartment of the washing machine
To descale your washing machine: pour 1 L of acetic acid into the machine and run a cycle.
To clean surfaces: spray the acetic acid, then scrub to remove limescale deposits
To clean the microwave oven: heat a glass filled with alcohol vinegar for 2 minutes at maximum power. Clean with a sponge.
