Product Summary
Formic acid, also called methanoic acid or hydroxycarboxylic acid, is a natural acid with the formula H-COOH. It is notably secreted by ants and bees. It appears as a liquid with a pungent odor. Chemistry researchers have shown that it is possible to decompose formic acid into hydrogen and carbon dioxide. In the future, methanoic acid could become a hydrogen storage solution.
