DPNB is a mixture of isomers of dipropylene glycol butyl ethers. It is a safe solvent with a high flash point and is not classified as hazardous. This oxygenated solvent, similar to PnB solvent or Butyl Di Glycol, is also colorless but with a relatively slow evaporation rate. It has a low odor.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
It is used as:
- Paint and coating: coalescent agent
- humectant
- solvent
- viscosity control agent
INDUSTRIAL USE
- Paint, varnish, ink industry: used as a solvent
- Detergent industries: used in the formulation of certain cleaning products
- Cosmetics industry: cosmetic raw material used in the formulation of certain water-based nail polishes and in certain shower oils
USAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
It is not classified as hazardous, not classified as CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic).
Use PPE.
