DPNB is a mixture of butyl ether isomers of dipropylene glycol. It is a safety solvent with a high flash point and not classified as hazardous. This oxygenated solvent, analogous to PnB solvent or Butyl Di Glycol, is also colorless but with a relatively slow evaporation rate. It has a low odor.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
It is used as:
- Paint and coating: coalescing agent
- humectant
- solvent
- viscosity control agent
INDUSTRIAL USE
- Paint, varnish, and ink industry: used as a solvent
- Detergent industry: included in the formulation of certain cleaning products
- Cosmetics industry: cosmetic raw material used in the formulation of certain water-based nail varnishes, and in certain shower oils
USAGE TIPS
It is not classified as hazardous, not classified as CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic).
Use PPE.
