Sodium bisulfate - professional pH minus powder
Sodium hydrogen sulfate (also known as sodium bisulfate), with the chemical formula HNaO4S, is an acidic salt. It is part of the pool treatment products. It is then referred to as pH minus or pH minus powder. It is a derivative of sulfuric acid.
It reduces the pH of water (particularly in swimming pools), thereby acidifying it. Use it when the pH of your pool or spa exceeds 7.4. It dissolves quickly and allows a rapid return to balance. It is compatible with all pool treatments: chlorine, salt, ozone, bromine, active oxygen...
Its advantage lies in the fact that it is safe for human health once diluted, and biodegradable.
It is available in the form of a yellowish solid powder in 25 kg bags, intended for professionals.
For use in a dosing pump, prefer a liquid pH minus product, based on sulfuric acid. It is offered in 26 kg containers, intended for professionals. Also find our pH Plus powder and our liquid pH Plus.
The pH of a swimming pool, spa, or bathing basin should be slightly alkaline. A pH level of 7.4 is recommended. An unbalanced pH affects water quality and therefore swimming conditions. It also leads to overconsumption of disinfectant (such as chlorine). Maintaining the water balance in a pool is an integral part of basin maintenance. It can be affected by air temperature, pool usage, weather conditions, and the environment surrounding the pool or spa (vegetation, garden...). Professionals use an electronic pH meter to measure water quality.
Product advantages:
- Concentrated active ingredient formula
- Safe powder formula
- Easy dosing
- Does not generate chloride ions
- Compatible with all treatments, filtration systems and coatings
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Sodium bisulfate / sodium hydrogen sulfate is used to regulate the pH of water in swimming pools and basins.
INDUSTRIAL USE
Sodium hydrogen sulfate is used for:
- Production of cleaning products
- Production of swimming pool water treatment products
- Industrial water treatment
PROFESSIONAL USE
- Treatment and maintenance of water in swimming pools, spas, basins, jacuzzis...
- Ecological pesticide in marine environments
- In jewelry: diluted in water for stripping and deoxidizing precious metals after soldering
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Application:
Pour pH MINUS - pH MINUS Powder directly into the basin in front of the return inlet(s), with filtration running, or spread over the entire surface of the basin. Pouring must be done in the MANDATORY absence of swimmers.
Avoid direct contact between the coating and the product, as this could damage it. If necessary, pre-dilute the product in a container with warm water.
Dosage:
Allow approximately 75 g of pH MINUS - pH MINUS Powder per 10 m3 of water to reduce the pH by approximately 0.1 unit.
Always adjust the pH in several steps, in filtration or recirculation mode, in increments of 0.2 pH units spaced 2 hours apart.
This dosage is calculated for water with standard characteristics. For pH or TAC values that differ significantly, the dosage may be doubled or even tripled.
Dosing pump:
pH MINUS - pH MINUS Powder will be injected in solution via a dosing pump. In the dosing pump conditioning tank, dissolve at the ratio of 5 kg of pH Minus pH MINUS Powder in 50–100 liters of water.
The ideal pH value is between 7.0 and 7.4 and should be checked at least once a week. A correct pH value not only preserves equipment and coatings but also ensures the well-being of swimmers and reduces disinfectant consumption.
Recommendations:
Corrosive product. Follow usage precautions. Use gloves and protective goggles. Store in its original packaging, sealed, upright and frost-free.
