Butyl Alcohol (Butanol): High-Purity Industrial Solvent and Chemical Intermediate
Butanol (butan-1-ol), or Butyric Acid (formula $C_4H_{10}O$), is an aliphatic alcohol essential to many industrial sectors. A clear, colorless liquid recognized for its excellent solvent properties and its ability to improve flow in coatings, Butanol is a cornerstone of organic chemistry. We supply the four key isomers, guaranteed at high purity for your most demanding applications.
Thanks to its high solubility and moderate volatility, Butyl Alcohol is a strategic component in many manufacturing processes.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Paints and Coatings: n-Butanol and iso-Butanol are resin solvents, used as paint thinners and varnishes to regulate the drying rate and improve the finish.
Chemical Synthesis: Butanol is a key intermediate in the manufacture of numerous chemical products, including plasticizers (butyl phthalates) and esters (butyl acetate, widely used in adhesives and nail polish).
Fuels: Butanol is studied and used as a promising biofuel (biobutanol) as a partial replacement for ethanol, thanks to its higher energy density.
Extraction Agent: Effective for the extraction of fats, oils, and other natural products in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
INDUSTRIAL USE
Cleaning and Degreasing: Powerful solvent used in certain industrial degreaser formulations.
Pharmaceutical Industry: Employed as a solvent in the purification and crystallization of certain active ingredients.
Plastics: Used in the manufacture of certain resins and plastics to control viscosity.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Butyl Alcohol is a flammable and irritating chemical that requires careful handling.
Flammability: Butanol must be stored and handled away from all ignition sources. Ensure proper grounding during liquid transfers.
Ventilation: Use exclusively in well-ventilated areas. Vapors may be irritating and potentially hazardous at high concentrations.
Required PPE: The wearing of appropriate chemical gloves (nitrile or butyl), safety goggles, and long-sleeved clothing is mandatory when handling the pure product.
Storage: Keep containers tightly closed, in a cool and dry place, away from strong oxidizing agents, acids, and alkalis.
