Benzyl alcohol (CAS 100-51-6), or alpha-hydroxytoluene, is a primary alcohol with the semi-structural formula C6H5-CH2OH. It is naturally present in certain plants and flowers, including ylang ylang, jasmine, garlic, almond, apple... It is therefore found in many essential oils. It is also produced synthetically.
It comes in the form of a colorless, flammable, and irritating liquid.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Used as a bactericide and fungicide, as well as a solvent.
INDUSTRIAL USE
- Paint industry: used as a solvent and thinner for industrial coatings, particularly for epoxy paints
- Stripping industry: formulation of paint strippers
- Chemical industry: synthesis precursor for several esters
- Ink industry: used as a thinner and cleaner for maintaining screen printing screens, as a thinner for pen inks, and as a raw material for the manufacture of textile dyes
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Benzyl alcohol is harmful if ingested or inhaled.
When used at the regulated doses and following the indicated dosage, it has no impact on health.
It is recommended to wear gloves to protect the skin when handling the product.
