Ecocert is an independent certification body, founded in France in 1991, specializing in the labeling of products that meet strict environmental requirements. It operates in many sectors such as organic agriculture, cosmetics, detergents, and eco-products.

Its mission is to verify, through regular audits, that a product or process complies with a precise set of specifications: traceability of raw materials, limitation of controversial substances, reduction of environmental impact, and transparency of information.

Ecocert certification thus constitutes a guarantee of credibility and trust. It attests that a product has been checked by an independent third-party body and that it meets clearly defined environmental criteria.

A bio-based product is a product in which all or part of the raw materials come from renewable resources derived from biomass (plants, oils, starch, natural fibers, etc.), as opposed to resources of fossil origin such as petroleum.

The term "bio-based" refers to the origin of the materials used, not to the 100% natural or biodegradable nature of the product. A product may therefore be partially bio-based, depending on the percentage of renewable materials incorporated into its formulation.

The use of bio-based components helps reduce dependence on fossil resources and supports a transition toward more sustainable solutions, while maintaining technical performance suited to professional requirements.
