Ecocert is an independent certification body founded in France in 1991, specializing in certifying products that meet strict environmental standards. It operates across many sectors, including organic agriculture, cosmetics, detergents, and eco-products.

Its mission is to verify, through regular audits, that a product or process complies with precise specifications: raw material traceability, restriction of controversial substances, reduction of environmental impact, and transparent information.

Ecocert certification is thus a guarantee of credibility and trust. It confirms that a product has been verified by an independent third-party organization and meets clearly defined environmental criteria.

A bio-based product is a product in which all or part of the raw materials come from renewable biomass resources (plants, oils, starch, natural fibers, etc.), as opposed to fossil fuel-based resources such as petroleum.

The term "bio-based" refers to the origin of the materials used, not to whether the product is 100% natural or biodegradable. A product can thus be partially bio-based, depending on the percentage of renewable materials incorporated into its formulation.

Using bio-based components reduces dependence on fossil resources and is part of a transition toward more sustainable solutions, while maintaining technical performance tailored to professional standards.
